Nose to the grindstone! Back at it! In this conversation Gavin, Cody, Erik, AND Julia discuss the book of 1 Samuel, chapters 1-8. Read those chapters, listen to the audio of the conversation, and then chip in on the comments section below with your own thoughts on the Scripture and responses to these three questions:
- What word, phrase, or theme most resonated with you personally as you read this section of Scripture?
- What does this portion of Scripture invite us to as a community of disciples?
- If you’re sitting down with these chapters, what drink or snack would pair best with the reading?
Next week we pick up with the Samuel narrative, with 1 Samuel 9-15!

I liked the part about desiring to hear God speak, but needing to position ourselves to hear God speak. To be ready to listen, when He does speak to us. God may speak to us when we least expect to hear from Him, but having a posture of waiting, watching and listening prepares us to hear God whenever or wherever He chooses to speak.
