In this conversation Gavin, Erik, and Cody chat through Ecclesiastes 4-6. Read those chapters, listen to the audio of the conversation, and then chip in on the comments section below with your own thoughts on the Scripture and responses to these three questions:
- What word, phrase, or theme most resonated with you personally as you read this section of Scripture?
- What does this portion of Scripture invite us to as a community of disciples?
- If you’re sitting down with these chapters, what drink or snack would pair best with the reading?
Next week we keep on going: Ecclesiastes 7-9!

Oh man, you guys just hurt my heart with the spaghetti commentary! Here I am listening to your podcast and making up spaghetti for a family from church with some health issues. And I grew the tomatoes and canned them. And Jeff shot the deer that’s the meat for the sauce. And I made homemade croutons and Caesar dressing. And my spaghetti will not be scorned!
…Also, thanks for keeping me company while I’m cooking. I’ve been enjoying your podcasts.
Oh, Joanna! That sounds like a completely different level of pasta dinner! Now THAT is how you spaghetti!
Glad you’re joining the conversation!
I like the part about a handful of tranquility. I too, find it tough to shut out the World and just listen for the voice of God. I need to take more time to attempt to do that. I pray that as I attempt, God will step into the space and speak.
