I am sure Brittany Spiers’ only thought during recording “Oops, I did it again.” was that maybe someone some day, would see the theological significance of the song. Gavin, you did it again! Actually, I think that the song is really how we view our transgressions; oops, Sorry. Wink, wink. Tee hee, no biggie. Definitely not the deep emotion of a lament psalm but more than accurate on how most of us view our sin. (You can’t believe how I want to join the Erik put down fest!!)
Favorite psalm, I have to go with Cody’s psalm 77. Song choice; 1971 Grammy nominee “Alone again, Naturally” by Gilbert O’Sullivan. Within this song there is the lyric “I remember I cried, not wishing to hide the tears…” Sorry Erik!!

Psalm 77
I found Psalm 77:11-12 to be a good reminder. When in lament and questioning where God is and wondering if you’ve been forgotten – reflect on times when God has been faithful, whether in scripture or through personal experience. I’ve found this to be helpful and provides perspective during difficult times.
