In this conversation, Pastors Erik, Julia, and Gavin the Wisdom Psalms, looking specifcally at Psalms 1, 37, and 73 as examples. Read those Psalms, listen to the audio of the conversation, and chip in on the comments section below with your thoughts on the three questions we discuss:
- Which Psalm did you choose as a representative of this genre and why does it resonate with you personally?
- Why does this type of Psalm matter to the life of the church?
- The Psalms are songs, so, if you’re sitting down to read these Psalms what song would you put on in the background to set the mood?
For our next Bible Convo we will discuss the Lament Psalms using Psalms 51, 77, and 142 as examples!

Psalm 37. verses 7 and 34 both talk about waiting for the Lord, which resonated with me these days.

Gotta go with Psalm 1…It was a theme at Covenant Heights one of the years I rode my dinosaur there as a young child. They all talk about reward and punishment seems close to prosperity that Julia talked about. I don’t have a song need to have longer contemplation on that part of it!
