Bible Convo (Colossians and Philemon) – 06/03/20

In this conversation, Pastors Erik, Cody, and Gavin discuss both Colossians and the wee little book Philemon. Read those books (should take you less than a half hour), listen to the audio of the conversation, and chip in on the comments section below with your own thoughts on the Scripture and to these three questions:

  1. What word, phrase, or theme most resonated with you personally as you read this letter?
  2. What does this letter invite us to as a community of disciples?
  3. If you’re sitting down to read this letter, what drink or snack would pair best with the reading?

For next week’s Bible Convo we will be discussing the letter we know as 1 Thessalonians. You’re invited to read those four chapters and come up with your own thoughts on the the same three reflective questions we used today.

  1. Gentlemen, let me be the first to introduce you to MEGA STUFF OREOs!!!!
I think this was a real pastoral letter…Loved the part in the Message at the start of Chapter 3 where it says “If you are serious about living the new resurrection life with Christ act like it!!” It is a very action oriented book, which is not really what I like to think about. It is a challenge for me and a challenge for the church.

    • It is so encouraging to see you all listen and more importantly listen to God’s Spirit as you read along and share what strikes you. We love it.

Now if we are all serious about this resurrection life we shall start acting like it. Great call and reminder.

  2. Tom & Jen say, living a resurrection life is not easy, but the Joy, Peace, and Contentment that brings, makes it SO much better than living for the wrong side. And I agree, anything on “Jen’s Tab” (aka Tom’s Tab) does taste best!
We truly look forward to these discussions.
