Winnipeg Covenant 
So I’ll comment so you know at least somebody listens!! Word or phase? From the first chapter verse 8, Paul says he has confidence that God will complete the work He started. Our personal space is really great at this time! New people being added to the family, summer is coming, but I have to confess I was not confident that God would complete this work as I had thought he should. This book is how our lives are working right now!! We are feeling totally in awe at the grace of God, We have no choice but gratitude and are grateful for the prayers of friends and family. Celebration indeed! If we had a fatted calf we would be having an all church BBQ!

Tom & Jen, a bit late, but better late than never? I really enjoyed Philippians and this Bible Convo as well. I love the celebration encouragements. We have enjoyed some wonderful champagne with friends in Brazil. My choice for a snack is Le Bete Noir, which is a very solid chocolate cheesecake which takes lots of work to prepare, but it is perfection to consume. A good celebration treat. Tom thinks the best food and drink pairing is a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and bean with bacon soup and a cup of hot chocolate. Contentment food, for sure!

A connection was made in my mind while listening to this episode. In Acts 16, Paul and Silas (and the other prisoners) are suddenly and miraculously granted freedom by the power of God. And what do they do? They remain. They voluntarily lay aside their divinely gifted freedom for the sake of another. God uses this submission to save the life and soul of the jailer, who was the one responsible for maintaining Paul’s imprisonment in the first place. In 1 Cor 8:9 I see a similar attitude of laying aside our freedom for the sake of our brothers and sisters. And again in Rom 14 (especially vs. 7-8). We do not live just for ourselves. Our freedom is a gift from God, and like other gifts, we should use it to bless and extend God’s kingdom (Rom 12, 1 Cor 12, etc).
